Following in dad’s footsteps.
Moses Martin, the 18-year-old son of Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow, showed off his singing chops while performing with his band Dancer.
A clip of the teen jamming out with the group at the Mercury Lounge in New York City began circulating this month showing Moses dominating the stage as he stands front and center as the group’s lead singer.
In another video, shared Nov. 9, the group covers The Strokes’ “Last Nite,” hitting each note of the rock group’s 2001 single.
Moses’ mom Gwyneth hinted at her son’s musical interests back in April during a birthday tribute post on Instagram.
“I admire how deep you go into areas that interest you, becoming an expert in synths from the 80’s and the French new wave,” the Goop founder, who is also mom to daughter Apple Martin, 20, with Chris, wrote at the time. “There is such a magnificent world of ideas and harmonies inside that beautiful head of yours.”
Of course, dad Chris is the frontman for the hit group Coldplay, which has been performing since the late ‘90s. As for his own career, the British singer previously addressed the band’s next steps.
“Our last proper record will come out at the end of 2025,” Chris said on BBC Radio 2 in 2021. “And I think after that we’ll only tour. And maybe we’ll do some sort of collaborative things, but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes there.”
Moses is currently a freshman at Brown University, and the lead up to the transition proved to be a hard one for The Politician star.
"It's very different," Gwyneth said of being an empty nester in a video shared to her Instagram Story Oct. 21. "I have waves of grief and sadness."
However, she felt her kids were ready for the change.
"My kids both really know themselves very well," the Oscar winner explained in an Instagram Stories video back in July, "and that's a trait about them that I both love and admire."
